My dog was violated today…
I decided this morning that I have had enough with my baby Sooner. I love him so much but sometimes he just aggravates the heck out of me. I wouldn’t trade him for the world though.
This year, he will be 2 years old. So, off to the Doctor we went.
He was neutered.
I don’t think that he’ll ever look at me the same way again.
I feel so bad.
But that’s okay – no more marking territory, no more running to find girls, and just hopefully (crossing fingers) I won’t have to listen to as much as that whining that he does.
I love him.
He’s pissed off at me.
It’s a love/hate sort of thing.
Today he’s still groggy from this mornings doctor visit. Hopefully tomorrow he will be feeling better. Next month I have already decided that my other dog, Tyrone, will take that dreadful trip to get neutered as well. Rufus, the German Shepherd isn’t 6 months yet.. he’ll have to wait a few more months.
I don’t know how this will all pan out, I will be sure to let everyone know.
Until then, wish me luck and pray that my dog won’t hate me forever.

It will be interesting to see if he tells the other two what happened, or if he tries to keep it to himself and hopes they are next!
But a responsible choice all the same, and I am sure he will get over it soon enough
I hope this isn’t bad news, Trish, but I had my Boston Terrier neutered over nine years ago and he’s still marking his territory every time he gets the chance. I thought neutering was supposed to stop that but our vet said not in all cases. My luck.
Sooner is so, so cute!
leplusjeune – OH NO!!! I hope that Sooner is one of those cases where it does stop that. …
Now, I really feel bad – I hope that I didn’t have him violated for nothing (J/K – I know there are many more pros about the situation)
I bet it will help. He might be afraid of knives for a while, though.
Yes, there are many pros to the situation. It’s always a good idea to spay or neuter if you don’t intend to breed them.
