I killed the goose with the golden egg…
I did it. It was me.. if you are looking for someone to blame.. I am the ONE. Okay, so I get that you have no idea of what I am talking about, so I will set it up for you.
My bro-in-law has come into some money recently and my husband and I are in a financial position where we can really use some help. So, the bro-in-law has helped us out and I am grateful for that. Two days ago my bro-in-law was over at my home and hubby and I were in the living room. The brother decided to jump off the sofa and go scrounge around in a spare room that I am using for storage. I didn’t think much of it at first, but then I hear him going through boxes. I ask him politely what he is looking for and if I can get something for him. He tells me that he is looking for a set of computer speakers. I tell him that I don’t have an extra pair that all of the ones I have are being used at the computers around the house (we have 3). Now, I am an IT student and I have a lot of computer gadgets.
Now, after I tell him that I don’t have any speakers, he still insists on going through our boxes. I tell him to please exit the room… he doesn’t listen (it’s like talking to a brick wall). So then, I raise my voice a little and ask him, once again, to please get out of that room. He gets mad, storms out of the house and I haven’t seen him since.
He’s upset with me. But for why? I don’t even go through things at my mother’s house when I go and I definitely don’t do it at his home.
My husband told me yesterday that ‘I killed the goose with the golden egg’. But, really it sounds like he thinks I shouldn’t have said anything. But.. that’s not me. I can’t compromise my personal opinion and principles for a few dollars.. I wouldn’t sell myself for something like that.. if I am going to sell myself it’s going to be for a lot more money than that
So, my loyal readers.. what do you think? Was I out of line? Wrong? Too Loud? What would you have done? I am begging to hear other views.
Until next time…
